The “Coppa Speranze Fiat” (literally Fiat Hope Cup) iso ne of the most significant activities which is promoted and organized by Atletica Gruppo Fiat Auto Formia. This event was introduced in 1982, and during its historical path it has involved thousands and thousands of young students. The event is simply a trial of cross country  open to middle schools students, for which an individual and team ranking is drawn up. All the schools that take part in this event are allowed to partecipate with an unlimited number of students, to promote a philosophy which has always had the goal to spread values like friendship, fairness, fraternity, but above all the opportunity for young people to take up sport. Nowadays the “Coppa Speranze Fiat” is organized in 8 areas in Italy, that is in Lanciano, Melfi, Modena, Lecce, Sulmona, Cassino, Pomigliano D’Arco and Termoli (in the past even in Firenze, Livorno, San Salvo, Pratola Serra, Vasto and Termini Imerese).
This event every year involves almost 5000 students, on behalf of more than 100 schools, located in 7 regions: Abruzzo, Campania, Basilicata, Molise, Lazio, Puglia and Emilia Romagna. Generally the various stages of this event are preceded by a meeting with students at which former and famous athlets like Livio Berruti, Maurizio Damilano, Francesco Panetta, Alessandro Lambruschini, Gennaro Di Napoli and Giovanni De Benedictis take part.
