35 years of History

The Atletica Fiat Sud Formia (literally Fiat South Formia Athletics) was established in 1978 with its first denomination of Fiat Sud Lazio thanks to the link with the Fiat Cassino plant. Its base was located in Formia, its first president was Giampiero Boniperti along with Elio Papponetti and Luigi Frnacione to whom were given an operative rule. The women team (during the first two years there was even a men team) began its first season in a fantastic way, winning the second division italian championship and obtaining the promotion for the first division. This great result was obtained thanks to Anna Capodanno, Tiziana Gabrielli, Nancy Ambroglini, Luigina Tonelli, Daniela Ottaviani, Laura Materassi, Alessandra Battaglia, Dalida Guarnieri, Laura Arduini, Antonella Battaglia, Loredana Benedetti, Mariella Buonsangue, Ambra Giacchetti e Antonella Liquori.
